can i pray tahajjud without sleeping | How to pray Tahajjud

Can I read Tahjud without sleeping? Many people have the questioned whether it is permissible to pray Tahajjud without sleeping or not, so today I will clarify everything for you in this article. how many rakats in dhuhr

It is not necessary to sleep for Hajj, Tahjud prayer can be performed even without sleep. However, the general habit of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his Companions (RA) was to wake up in the last night and pray Tahjud, so this is the best form of it. As Shaykh-ul-Islam Hazrat Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madani (may Allah have mercy on him) writes:

The time of Tahajjud is from after Isha to dawn. Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated in Sahih that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) recited Tahajjud at the beginning of the night, in the middle of the night, and at the end of the night. But in the last days and more It is important to recite it late in the night, as much as the part of the night gets late, the blessings and mercies increase, and at the end of the night there are more blessings than all the parts. All the time is tahjadhi”.

Also, Grand Mufti of Pakistan,

Mufti Muhammad Shafi, may God have mercy on him, writes in Ma’arif Al-Qur’an:

The word “Tahajjud” is derived from “Hajjud”, and this word is used for two different meanings, it also means sleeping and waking up. It is taken to mean that the prayer that should be offered after waking up for some time is the Tahajjud prayer, but the Tafsir al-Muzhari says that the meaning of this verse is to give up sleep for some part of the night to pray, and this meaning is just as valid for waking up and praying after some prayer. In the same way, it is also true to pray after sleeping for the beginning of the prayer. Therefore, the condition of sleeping first for Tahajjud prayer is not evidenced by the Qur’an, but also from some hadiths, it has been argued for the same general meaning of Tahjud. He is also a witness to the same general, his words are:

Hasan Basri says that Tahajjud prayer is valid for Haras prayer which is recited after Isha, but due to interaction, it will be performed after some sleep.

The result of this is that in the original meaning of Tahajjud prayer, it is not a condition that it should be done after sleep, and this condition is not present in the words of the Qur’an either, but generally the interaction of the Messenger of Allah, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and his Companions has been that they used to pray after waking up at the end of the night, so this would be the best form of it. Only God knows.

How to pray Tahajjud

In the beginning, two rakat prayers are offered. One should recite the verses of the Quran while standing. After that, the prayer continues by placing both hands on the knees and prostrating before Allah. Then touch the floor with palms facing the ground, nose and forehead with full devotion.

Tahajjud is one of the recommended Sunnahs that if it is performed, it will deserve a great reward and if it is not performed, it will be deprived of many good deeds, but it is not a sin. That is, the Sunnah is mustahab and the one who recites Nafil deserves a reward for fulfilling his purpose and there is no sin in abandoning it.
And this is the meaning of Istihab.

As Sidi Sarkar Ala Hazrat Azim Al Barakat (Alaihi Rahma) says.
The Sunnah of Tahajjud is the greatest and most important of all recommended prayers. The Qur’an and the hadiths of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the light of Sayyid al-Mursaleen (peace be upon him), are rich in inspiration. In the general books of religion, it is called the sin of Mandubeet and Mustahabat and is different from Sunnah Muqidah. So his patron, though destitute of great grace and goodness, is not sinful.

Bahr al-Raiq” and “Alamgiri” and “Dar Mukhtar” and “Fathullah al-Mu’un” by Sayyid Abu al-Saud al-Azhari: “Mann al-Mandubat Salat al-Lail;” In “Muraqi al-Falah” is: “Sun Tahiyyah al-Masjid wa Nadab Salawat al-Lail” is in “Ghaniya Shareh Minya” it is: “Mann al-Nafl al-Mustahab Qiyam al-Lail” is in “Halba”. “: “Mashi Sahib” Al-Havi Al-Qudsi “Ali Anhu Manduba”

Hadith about Tahajjud

Virtues of Tahajjud in the light of Quran and Hadith

Allah Ta’ala has sent man in this world only for His worship, His knowledge and His recognition, so that by worshiping Allah and serving Him, recognizing His nature and gaining knowledge of Him, he can enter this world.

May Allah be pleased with him, and then may he live in the hereafter in luxury and comfort. This is the reason why the Prophets, peace and blessings of God be upon them, the companions of the Prophet, the Tabieen, the followers of the Tabieen, and the imams of the Mujtahids, in all areas of their lives, society and economy, sadness and joy, scarcity and abundance, and their movements and residences, sitting and dismissal at all times and He kept this great goal in front of him at every moment and always tried to achieve it.

They also used to do worldly business, agriculture and trade, industry and handicrafts, etc., but their hearts were always intoxicated and dedicated in the love and affection of Allah Ta’ala and they were never oblivious to His remembrance. Allah Ta’ala has said about such people in the Holy Qur’an:

’رِجَالٌ لَّا تُلْہِیْہِمْ تِجَارَۃٌ وَّلَا بَیْْعٌ عَنْ ذِکْرِ اللّٰہِ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاۃِ وَإِیْتَاء الزَّکَاۃِ۔ ‘‘

These are the people who are not distracted from the remembrance of Allah by any trade or purchase or sale, nor from establishing prayer or giving Zakat. (Al-Noor: 37)

These are the people who stand with their hands folded in front of their true beloved for worship and servitude instead of comfort even in a peaceful time like night, and engage in secret and need in front of him in prayer. Allah Ta’ala has mentioned these people in different ways in the Holy Qur’an, so he

Their sides (at night) are separated from their beds, they call upon their Lord with (mixed emotions of) fear and hope, and the sustenance We have given them is from it (goodness). (in the works of) spend, so no one knows what eye-cooling goods are hidden for such people in return for their deeds. “

Another place says:

He used to sleep less at night, and he used to ask for forgiveness during Suhoor. “

Another place says:

Translation: And (the servants of the Merciful are those) who spend the nights in such a way that they are (sometimes) in prostration before their Lord and (sometimes) in standing. “
One place says:

Well (can such a person be equal to him) who worships in the hours of the night, sometimes in prostration, sometimes in standing, fears the Hereafter and hopes for mercy from his Lord? Saying: Are those who know and those who do not know equal? “

how many rakats in tahajjud

In the hadiths, the Tahajjud prayer has a minimum of two rak’ats and a maximum of twelve rak’ats; However, most of the time, the Tahjjud prayer of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was eight rak’ahs, that is why the Hanafi jurists have said that eight rak’ahs are the best in Tahjud.
